Am I able to purchase a ribbon that is absolutely identical worldwide, irrespective of where I purchase it from?

Yes, thanks to the database shared with all of its transformation centres worldwide, ARMOR is able to offer its international customers the same product wherever they are located and in compliance with common quality standards.

Are ARMOR ribbons exclusively developed and manufactured by ARMOR?
Armor T.T :
Yes. 100% of the ribbons sold by ARMOR have been created by in-house engineers and manufactured at ARMOR plants. This guarantees full control of production quality and consistent print performance, with the confidence of a product available over the long term.

I am a user of Thermal Transfer ribbons, can I purchase directly from ARMOR?
Armor T.T :
No. ARMOR only markets its ribbons via a network of partner distributors. They provide users with a complete range of expertise in the field of Thermal Transfer printing.
However, ARMOR is able to provide technical advice and to point ribbon users in the direction of their closest and most suitable distributor.

Social innovation is at the very heart of the strategy of the ARMOR Group, what does this actually means in terms of Thermal Transfer ribbons?

In 2009 ARMOR introduced a major innovation to the Thermal Transfer ribbon market by developing the SolFree process. SolFree enables ARMOR to reduce the environmental footprint of Thermal Transfer ribbons thanks to a 100% solvent-free production process, even for the ribbon backcoating.
 
SolFree therefore enables users to reduce the carbon footprint associated with their print consumables.

When did ARMOR first manufactured Thermal Transfer ribbons?

ARMOR introduced the Thermal Transfer technology into Europe in the early 1980s. At the time ARMOR was one of the few companies worldwide investing in the development of this technology. The industrial expertise acquired over the years and the commercial development of the technology in the four corners of the world have enabled ARMOR to become the global leader in its field.

When was the company founded?

The company was established in 1922 by Mr Galland and Mr Brochard, two chemical engineers from Nantes, where the head offices of the Group are located to this day.
Since its founding ARMOR has developed specialist expertise in the areas of ink formulation and the manufacture of print consumables. ARMOR's history of innovation and development has brought the company to its current position as the global leader in the Thermal Transfer roll market, Europe's largest manufacturer of inkjet cartridges and France's largest seller of remanufactured laser cartridges.

Where are the Thermal Transfer ribbons produced?
Armor T.T :
ARMOR develops inks and manufactures Thermal Transfer ribbons at its Thermal Transfer Industrial Expertise Centre located in France. The rolls are then cut to size in accordance with local market needs at the various ARMOR transformation sites located on all 5 continents.
To support its customers in certain particularly competitive markets, ARMOR also produces a special quality of Thermal Transfer film at its plant in China, in line with the usual ARMOR standards and quality requirements.
